Director of Human Capital

Job Description 

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join Beacon Pointe Advisors as a Director of Human Capital in our Newport Beach headquarters office.  The Director will join a highly talented team of wealth management and client service professionals that service the investment management and financial planning needs of high net worth individuals, families and institutions.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of both educational and professional achievement. The Director’s primary role will be to support and manage our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HR Director will also have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Lead firm-wide performance evaluations, trainings, and HR Compliance related trainings
  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
  • Lead the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience
  • Provide consultation of management on strategic staffing plans, benefits, training, and development
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
  • Oversee the administration of the Company’s 401k Plan and coordinate year-end census and audit data for the Company’s third-party administrator
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and policies
  • Additional duties may entail participation in cross-business projects and assisting with national initiatives designed to streamline firm policies and procedures.  

 

Qualifications 

  • Undergraduate degree required (bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field preferred)
  • 5 - 7+ years of relevant experience, including employee relations, recruiting, compliance and change management
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation, interpersonal), integrity, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, with a problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office ® and ATS/HRIS systems (such as TriNet, UltiPro, Workday or ADP)
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations (multi-state)
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and challenging issues
  • Empathetic and professional approach, capable of building strong relationships both inside and outside of the organization
